TULLAHOMA, Tenn. ? The Lawrence County Wildcats (4-3, 1-3) traveled to Tullahoma on Friday night to take on the Tullahoma Wildcats (6-1, 3-1) in a pivotal region 5, 4A matchup, with Tullahoma emerging victorious 7-0.
The only score of the game came on Tullahoma?s first possession of the game, when Cass Barnes found Zach Estill for a 9-yard touchdown pass. Throughout the remainder of the first half, the Lawrence County offense struggled to find a rhythm. With Jeffrey Chambers bottled up, and Garrick Barnett unable to connect on his receivers, the Wildcats found themselves unable to move the football consistently. Tullahoma took over late in the first half and drove down the field in their two minute offense, positioning themselves for a field goal attempt to end the half, but the kick missed wide to the left, and Lawrence County escaped the first half down just 7-0.

The Lawrence County defense kept the Wildcats in the game, and late in the third quarter the Wildcat offense started to come to life as they were able to move the football for the first time all night against the Tullahoma defense. Adam Birdsong and Will Yates began to run the ball well up the middle of the Tullahoma defense, but the Wildcats still could not manage to punch it in the end zone. Justin Knight and Evan White forced fumbles late for the Wildcats, but the offense couldn?t convert and Tullahoma held on for the 7-0 victory. The win puts Tullahoma in good position to secure a playoff spot, while Lawrence County finds themselves needing to win their final three games and get help to end their playoff drought.

The Wildcats return home next Friday night as they host the Stratford Spartans (2-5, 1-3) at Hendrix-Staggs Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 7:00.
