The Mother-to-Mother Breast Feeding Support Group meets from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00
p.m. at the West Seventh Church of Christ in Columbia. Both baby and siblings are

January 5, 2006 (Thursday)
Smoking Cessation Class: Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia will offer a smoking
cessation class beginning January 5. The eight-week course will be held on
Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., January 5 through February 23. Meetings
are conducted in a group setting that provides support from peers who also want to
quit. The instructor-a former smoker-has received training from the American Lung
Association as a certified smoking cessation facilitator and utilizes materials
from the American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking ? program. The fee for
the eight-week course is $75 (or the equivalent of approximately 3 cartons of
cigarettes). Those who attend ALL sessions will be refunded $50 upon completion of
the program. Those interested may attend the first class meeting without

Precious Treasures, a support group for families experiencing pregnancy and newborn
loss, meets on the first Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the First Floor
Conference Room at Maury Regional Hospital. The purpose of the group is to bring
people together who share a common loss and provide emotional support. Topics vary
each month and may include the grief process, coping with holidays, overcoming
feelings of anger or guilt and getting pregnant again. For more information, call
