Cat to Blame For Pulaski Power Outage
Posted on February 28, 2006

A power outage that occurred around 4:30 this morning, knocked out power to a large part of Giles County. Five schools were affected by the power outage and prompted Director of Schools Tee Jackson to delay the start of schools until 9:30.

Pulaski Electric crews worked until about 6:30 this morning restoring power.

The cause of the outage was a wayward cat at the McKibbon Lane substation. Unfortunately for the cat, the only thing that remained was the tail. The untimely death of the cat caused the power to shut down all the way to the primary station on Highway 31-South near Giles County High School.

The power outage affected the downtown area, Highway 31-North to near Lynnville, the eastern side of Pulaski & Giles County and some southern sections of the county.
