Maury Regional Offers Class To Help You Quit Smoking

Smoking Cessation Class: Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia will offer a smoking
cessation class beginning April 4. The eight-week course will be held on Tuesdays
from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., April 4 through May 23. Meetings are conducted in a
group setting that provides support from peers who also want to quit. The
instructor-a former smoker-has received training from the American Lung Association
as a certified smoking cessation facilitator and utilizes materials from the
American Lung Association’s Freedom from Smoking ? program. The fee for the
eight-week course is $75 (or the equivalent of approximately 3 cartons of
cigarettes). Those who attend ALL sessions will be refunded $50 upon completion of
the program. Those interested may attend the first class meeting without obligation.
