County Commission To Consider Several Items at Regular Meeting Tuesday

The Lawrence County Commission meets in regular session Tuesday with several items on its agenda.
The Commission will hand out grant monies set aside for water line extension and repair. Some 60 thousand of the 325 thousand in available dollars has been recommended by committees to repair waterlines in and around West Point.
The West Point Utility district has reported severe leaks resulting in the loss of over one million gallons of water a month.
Several other areas are set to receive a portion of the grant money.
In other action the commission will vote on whether or not to establish a five member board to oversee the county workhouse. The commission will elect four of the members while the County executive will serve as chairman of the board.
Several other items are on the agenda and up for a vote.
