| Columbia Man To Run For Congress Posted on March 28, 2006 A Maury County Republican has set his sights on congressional office. Alan Pedigo recently announced his candidacy for the GOP nomination for the fourth district congressional seat. His last campaign for office was in 2002, when he lost to then-candidate Bill Ketron in the 13th district state senate race. Pedigo, a civil engineer is employed by Hart, Freeland and Roberts as an environmental consultant. Pedigo said the hallmarks of his campaign will be reducing government spending, halting the flow of illegal immigrants across the nation?s borders and reforming entitlement programs. Pedigo has asked all candidates for congressional office, as well as the Democratic incumbent, Rep. Lincoln Davis, to refuse political action committee funding during the campaign. The Columbia resident was a Marine sergeant. He is married to the former Catherine Dole, a distant relative of former U.S. Sen. Bob Dole. He and his wife have a daughter, Erin, who is a student at an Ohio college. The Pedigos are members of the Mound Missionary Baptist Church. |
