Posted on April 02, 2006

Gov. Phil Bredesen, D-Tennessee, announced Friday an initiative to crack down on child pornography.

The governor held a news conference where he outlined his plan to help police crack down on Internet predators and other Internet crimes against children.

Bredesen plans on providing $500,000 to support and expand the statewide Internet Crimes Against Children task force.

The force will provide additional training for investigators, counseling for victims and education for kids.

Bredesen said the whole state needs to be educated about Internet crimes.

The task force is made up of nine statewide police departments, including the Franklin Police department.
