Liberty Festival begins next week

It?s time once again for the Liberty Festival. Sunday there will be a God and Country Musical Concert by the Mars Hill Baptist Church Choir at the Crockett Theatre. Admission is free.

Tuesday from 6-8 Chaparral Restaurant will be hosting ?Go West? celebration. There will be food, music and fun.

Wednesday at 11 the contest for Queen of the Rodeo will be held at Rotary Park.

Thursday the 5th annual Liberty Festival will officially begin with a Cowboy/Cowgirl parade at 5. Immediately following the parade the friends of Lawrenceburg will present the Texas Style Rodeo at Rotary Park beginning at 8. Advanced tickets are ten dollars adult and five dollars children 6-12. Tickets will be two dollars more at the gate.

Friday at noon the Coleman Methodist Church will host the 5th annual Liberty Church Service. Beginning at 8 the friends of L?burg and the L?burg Beautification Board will present their 2nd annual Liberty Ball at the City Administration Building. Orchestra music will be presented by Dr. Edd Jones and his Little Big Band from Florence. Tickets are ten dollars adult and five dollars children 6-12. Saturday there will be a Fess Parker Film Festival at the old crocket theatre. Admission is free.
At 10 the ?Top this Burger? contest will begin at the Gazebo on the square. Bring your own grill. Judging will begin at 11. Cash prizes will be awarded.
From 10-3 the Texas Junkin Day Flea Market will be held on the square. The Huntley Sisters and others will be singing. To reserve a space call 762-7617.
At noon the Lawrenceburg Elks Lodge will have a horseshoe throwing contest. There is a ten dollar registration fee per team. For more info call 762-5252.
At 1 a special ceremony will be held at the site of the Crockett Cabin south of the square. Refreshments will be served.
At 2 the Crockett Theatre will have a special site of David Crockett?s life followed by at Western Dance Revue by Art of Dance students. Admission is free.

The 2006 Liberty Festival will come to a end Saturday night at the LCHS football field. At 6 there will be food, music, inflatables for kids and the classic baseball match up between the L?burg Babe Ruth All-stars and L?burg Old-Timers. Admission and parking is free. At 9:30 a specatucular firework display will end the evening. For more info call 762-7617.
