| The Gentleman From the Cane Posted on July 27, 2006 Lawrenceburg Community Theater in conjunction with the Crockett Arts Center, Chamber of Commerce and First Farmers and Merchants Bank present the 30th anniversary production of the musical play The Gentleman From the Cane August 3rd, 4th, 5th, 10th, 11th and 12th at the historic Crockett Theater in Lawrenceburg. The play, written and directed by local resident Dolly Leighton, is an account of the life of Davy Crockett while he lived and worked in Lawrence County from 1817 to 1922 including his first foray into the political arena on the local and state level. The cast of 64 characters is a mixture of L.C.T. stage veterans and newcomers to musical theater. Local teacher Kenneth Coultas stars as Davy Crockett with other lead roles played by Melissa Gordy, Brandon Weaver, Brent McKamey and Katie Riddle. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12. Reserve seating is available for $25 and groups of 20 or more can get tickets for $7.50 each in advance at the Crockett Arts Center, the Chamber of Commerce and First Farmers and Merchants Bank in Lawrenceburg.
