Phone Scam Claiming Cheap Health Insurance Hits Ethridge
Posted on December 05, 2006

Ethridge police are reporting what looks like a new phone scam. Police Chief E.O. Shelton said citizens have gotten calls from a person who tries to sell them on health insurance with extremely low rates. But the offer is only good for one day. Then the caller asks for your date of birth and social security numbers. Chief Shelton is warning citizens to not give out personal information like that over the phone to someone you don?t know. Once again, if it sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
