Two Lawrence County residents were arrested yesterday and now face meth related charges.
The father and daughter attempted to purchase products used in the manufacture of methamphamine. The pair left the business and employees notified the Giles County Sheriffs Department.
During a traffic stop yesterday, the pair was found to be in the possession of a precursor to produce methamphetamine. Lawmen contacted officials in Lawrence County and informed them of the situation. The information obtained led to the discovery of a meth lab in Lawrence County.
Taken into custody was 40 year old Patrick Wayne Barnett and his 20 year old daughter, Brittany Beatrice Barnett. Both have a West Point address. Each one faces a charge of promotion of the manufacture of methamphetamine. They are currently being held in the Giles County Jail under a $50,000 bond each. Lawrence County authorities could place additional charges against the two.
?This is what happens when citizens get involved,? says Giles County Sheriff Kyle Helton. ?Because of observant business people and local citizens, we were able to make these arrests.?
Giles County Sheriffs Department Narcotics Investigator Michael Thomison made yesterdays arrest with assistance from Pulaski Police Department Narcotics Investigator Joey Turner and Elkton Police Chief Jim Stewart.
