| Henryville Man Among Those Arrested In Two-County Drug Bust Posted on April 29, 2007 From WKSR.com Investigators were in Campbellsville and Lawrence County yesterday gathering information and evidence in a major drug bust. “You would just have to see it to believe it,” said Helton. According to Sheriff Helton, the ongoing investigation has turned up approximately 400 marijuana plants inside what Sheriff Helton called a “marijuana factory”. Inside the old Campbellsville Store, investigators found four grow-rooms and one drying room. Timers were installed to turn heaters on and off at specified times each day. Arrested was John R. Pierce of 956 Central Turnpike, Summertown and John Christopher Stough of 14442 Campbellsville Road. Stough also had a growing setup at his residence. According to Sheriff Helton, investigators found several marijuana plants growing in a hydroponic system. Approximately 360 plants were found at the old Campbellsville Store and the remainder of the ones found were at the Stough residence. Sheriff Helton called the marijuana found at the Stough residence a much higher grade marijuana than is usually seen around here. All three properties have been seized from the two men by DEA officials. Also seized was approximately $175,000 in cash, much of the cash was reportedly found in the Pierce house in Henryville which is refferred to as the the old “Patterson Place.” put the value of the marijuana seized between three and four hundred thousand dollars. Both men were taken to the Giles County Jail. Bond for the two is pending. They are each facing charges of conspiracy to distribute, conspiracy to manufacture, possession of drugs for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia. Assisting the Giles County Sheriffs Department is members of the Lawrence County Sheriffs Department, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Agency and the Tennessee Department of Revenue. “Im real proud of how this went down and how well all of the agencies have worked together,” says Sheriff Helton. |
