Durham Elected Mayor; Liquor Referendum Passes

Lawrenceburg voters have elected a new mayor, one commissioner and decided to allow liquor stores inside the city limits.
Current Commissioner Keith Durham defeated former Mayor Blake Lay 1,064 votes to 875 to win a four year term as the city’s chief executive.
Voters voted to allow package liquor stores inside the city limits by the vote of 1,064 for to 875 votes against.
Former city policeman Jerry Moore was elected to commission seat one. He received 1,008 votes to 517 for Karen Woodall, 328 for Butch Watson and 63 for Tharon Chandler.
Robin Williams and Bid Lindsey will face off in a run off election for Commission Seat Two. Williams got the most votes but failed to gain a majority. Williams received 770 votes, Lindsey 538, Bobby Thompson 392 and Raliah Price 288.
The run off between Williams and Lindsey will be in about a month.
