LCHS Drops Columbia 1-0 In 8-AAA Opener

Scott Beasley threw a five hit shutout as the LCHS Wildcats baseball team edged Columbia 1-0 in their opening game of the District 8 Triple A baseball tournament today (Saturday) at Tullahoma. The Cats went into the tourney as the number one seed and got a bye into the second round. LCHS scored the games only run in the second inning. Blake Rogers doubled then on a wild pitch headed to third, the Columbia’s catcher’s throw sailed over the third baseman and Rogers trotted home with the games only run. Beasley’s pitching and the Wildcat defense made the lone run stand up. Two double plays helped Beasley escape trouble. The Cats went into the tourney as the number one seed and got a bye into the second round. The Cats will play in the finals of the winners bracket on Monday at four.
