Fifty- Six professional BBQ teams from all over the country will join about 30 local backyard teams.

The professional teams are competing for the officially sanctioned Kansas City Barbecue Society Championship. Teams are competing for cash and prizes totaling more than $18,000.
A children?s Hotdog Championship cook-off will be held Saturday from eight until eleven. The Backyard Cook?s Anything Goes competition will be at eight p.m. Friday. The two-day event includes musical entertainment and is free to the public.
