Former Lawrence Circuit Judge Dies Of Cancer

William Bryan Cain, a judge on the state
Court of Appeals since 1998, has died of cancer. He was 75.
Cain was appointed circuit judge for the judicial district that
covers Giles, Lawrence, Maury, Wayne counties in 1971 and was
appointed to the appeals court in 1998.
Cain, who had served as the appellate court’s presiding judge,
was last re-elected in 2006.
The state’s Administrative Office of the Courts announced Cain’s
death.
Cain is survived by his wife, Martha Sue, two children and four
grandchildren.
