| Schools Celebrate “Red Ribbon” Week Posted on October 22, 2007 Lawrence County Schools are celebrating Red Ribbon Week to promote safe, healthy and drug free lifestyles for students and the community. Local businesses and individual citizens are encouraged to take part by prominently displaying a large red ribbon on your door. Each day this week, students will participate in an activity to focuses on making a personal choice to be drug free. The focus is on the community on Wednesday the activity is called ?light the Way to a Drug free community and officials are asking everyone to leave their porch light on from dusk until ten as a symbol of desire to be a drug free community. You can contact the board of education or any school to find out other ways you can take part. |
