| LCHS Win Sets Up Shot At Playoffs Posted on October 27, 2007 From the Times Daily With a win Friday against Tullahoma, the long playoff drought will come to an end. The Wildcats moved into position to make the playoffs with a 28-14 victory over winless Whites Creek on Friday, a victory that was not secured until Blake Rogers intercepted a pass and returned it 30 yards for a score in the closing minutes. Garrick Barnett threw two touchdown passes in the second quarter to snap a 6-all tie in the second quarter. White’s Creek (0-10, 0-6) took an early lead when Farrard Marchbanks scored on a 1-yard run. Brittan Price answered for the Wildcats with a 23-yard run. Barnett put Lawrence County on top for good with a 92-yard scoring play to Trae Brannan. Barnett’s two-point conversion pass to Rogers made it 14-6. Barnett’s next TD pass covered 22 yards to Jared Green for a 21-6 halftime lead. The Wildcats host Tullahoma on Friday with the winner advancing to the playoffs. Collinwood 55, Perry County 13 LINDEN, Tenn. – The Collinwood offense proved too much for Perry County as the Trojans rolled to their eighth win of the season. Shannon Adams touched the ball only three times but finished with 155 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns for Collinwood. The Trojans ended the game with 372 yards in total offense, while Perry County got only 254 total yards. Collinwood scored two touchdowns in the first quarter on a 17-yard run by Max Risner and a 12-yard pass from Chandler Martin to Kevin White. The scores were sandwiched around a Perry County touchdown that gave Collinwood a 14-7 lead. The Trojans erupted for 27 points in the second quarter to take control of the game. The touchdowns came on a 2-yard run from Risner, a 73-yard run by Adams, a 1-yard run by Cameron Martin and a 46-yard Adams run and Collinwood took a 41-7 halftime lead. Collinwood scored two more times in the third quarter when Wright scored on runs of 7 and 9 yards. Richland 20, Loretto 13 LORETTO, Tenn. – Loretto played an outstanding defensive game, but it wasn’t enough to stop the powerful Raiders attack and Richland edged out a victory. Richland went up 7-0 in the first quarter before Loretto’s Colton Simbeck passed 10 yards to Greg Taylor for touchdown in the second quarter. The extra point failed. |
