Two More Early Voting Sites Approved For Lawrence County
Posted on January 08, 2008

Now, Lawrence County voters will have three places to vote early; after action requested by the local Election commission, was approved by the state.
Early voters can now vote at the Super Rama Grocery Store in Summertown, City Hall in Loretto and the Election Commission office in Lawrenceburg.
Early voting for the Presidential Preference Primary will begin Wednesday January 16th at all three sites. Early voting continues through January 31st, with the exception of Sundays and Monday January 21st when county offices will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Junior Day.
Election Commission Chairman Johnny Lyles said the commission worked hard to convince the state to allow the three early voting sites. Only Lawrence and Hickman Counties will have the extra locations.
?With Fred (Thompson) running,? Lyles said, we knew we would have a large turnout.? ?Voters can vote at any of the early voting sites, no matter where in the county they live,? he added.
Hours are slightly different. Early voting in Loretto and Summertown will be from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:30 until noon on Saturdays. Early voting at the election commission office will be from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m. All three sites will close for an hour at lunch.
