Coleman UMC To Collet Much Needed Items For Tornado Relief
Posted on February 11, 2008

Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church will be collecting donated items and cash for tornado victims today and Tuesday morning at the church office on North Military Ave. in Lawrenceburg.
Some of the donated items will go to victims in Hardin County but most of the goods will go to Macon County where 12 people died and dozens were injured in last week?s storms. Also, a United Methodist minister in Macon County and most of his family died in a traffic accident while tending to rescue and relief efforts.
Suggested items to contribute include any canned foods and powdered milk, towels and wash cloths, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes, heaters, batteries and hand held can openers. Of greatest need are diapers, baby wipes and baby food.
Cash donations can also be made to Coleman Memorial Church who will carry the money and other donated items to relief agencies on Tuesday. The goods will be delivered thanks to the generosity of the folks at AllSource Logistics here in Lawrenceburg.
Volunteers at Coleman will be accepting donations today from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm at the Church?s office on the north side of the church and again on Tuesday from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm. A list of needed items can be picked up at Coleman.
