Free Fishing Day in Tennessee set for Saturday June 7th

On Saturday June 7th, Tennessee will have a free fishing day. On this one day any person may fish without a fishing license or fishing permit anywhere in Tennessee.

At Laurel Hill Lake, James Ricketts and Doss Brothers will have their annual Kids Fishing Tournament from 5 a.m. until 11 a.m. Prizes and trophies will be given for recognition of fish caught by the kids. Also lunch will be served beginning at 10:30. Participants should pre-register in person at Laurel Hill Lake. The ages for this event is 1-16 years old.

In Lawrenceburg at Bobby Brewer Park, Pond, Walmart and Lawrenceburg Parks and Recreation Department will hold their Kid’s Fishing Derby beginning at 8 until 11:30 or when the fish stop biting. Registration will start at 7:30 at the pond for this event. The age class for this event is 6-12 years old. Prizes will be awarded at this event also.
