Morris Edwin Glover, 72, of Florence, passed away Sunday March 29, 2009, at Lauderdale Christian Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Visitation will be tonight Tuesday March 31, 2009, from 5PM until 8PM at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday April 1, 2009, at 11AM in Greenview Memorial Chapel with Rev. David McKelvey and Brother Jerry Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
Morris was born in Lauderdale County to the late Orville Glover and Orabelle Pettus Glover. He was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church and was retired from Reynolds after 37 years service and was also a masonry contractor for 43 years. Morris? compassion for life was only exceeded by his love and concern for his family and friends. He will best be remembered for his contagious grin, generosity, thoughtfulness and humor.
He was preceded in death by the mother of his children Jimmie Nell White; brother, Edward Glover and step-grandson Jacob Kelley. Survivors include his wife Jean Glover; son, Steve Glover (Sherrie), daughters: Beverly King (Steve), Robin Suiter (Greg), Donna Rowe (Rick), Rhonda Ray (Wayne Raney) and Deana Ray; brothers: Willis Glover (Joet), Gerald Glover (Diane); sister, Carolyn Martin (Bob); grandchildren: Dane Glover, Jonathan and David King, Tyler and Zack Haines; step-grandchildren: Brandy Kimbrough, Blake Rowe, Kyle Kelley, Brooke Ray, Brenna Wilson and Erin Suiter; mother-in-law Grace Scott and numerous nieces and nephews.
