Shelby Jean Purcell, age 72, of Leoma, Tenn., died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, Tenn. She was a native of Lawrence County, Tennessee, an accountant, bookkeeper, a car and antique dealer, and a member of Leoma Baptist Church. Her parents were the late William Hershel and Aileen Hughes Barnett. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Barnett. She is survived by her husband, J.O. Purcell of Leoma, TN. One Daughter, Sam Purcell of Leoma, TN. Two Sisters, Betty Murrell and husband, Ralph of Loretto, TN and Nell Hood of Lawrenceburg, TN. Three Brothers, J.C. Barnett and wife, Marge of Loretto, TN, Mack Barnett and wife, Nancy of Atlanta, GA and Roger Hughes and wife, Sandy of Lawrenceburg, TN. Brother-in-law & Sister-in-law, Ted and Betty Copeland of Dundee, MI. Several nieces and nephews. Numerous other family members and friends.Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Ave., Lawrenceburg, Tenn., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Funeral service will be at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 8, 2009 . Interment will be at Leoma Cemetery in Leoma, Tenn.
