LAWRENCE COUNTY MASTER GARDENER PLANT SALE EVENT

The Lawrence County Master Gardener Association will hold its annual plant sale on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm on the Agricultural Extension Office grounds at 2385 Buffalo Road in Lawrenceburg. The sale will feature many varieties of hard-to-find heirloom and other popular tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, flowers, ferns, bedding plants, mixed pots, hanging baskets and herbs.

Local master gardeners and Extension personnel will also give several presentations on garden-related topics per the following schedule:

8:30 am Preparing Beds for Vegetable Gardens by Calvin Bryant
9:30 am Composting by Kenneth Jones
10:30 am How to Make Hypertufa Containers by Glenda Fisher and Pat Grinnell
11:30 am Irrigation for the Home Gardener by Wendel Smith

Master gardeners will be available at the sale to share information on proper planting and care of your plants. All proceeds from this sale will support the Master Gardener Association in community service projects. For more information, contact the Agricultural Extension Office at (931)-762-5506.
