Rev. Clifton C. Johnston, age 70, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee died Monday, July 13, 2009, at his residence. He was a native of Wetumpka, Alabama, a retired United Methodist minister, and was a member of the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church. He received his Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University . His parents were the late Robert E. and Gladys Crenshaw Johnston.

He is survived by his wife,
Anita Lee Bonoy Johnston of Lawrenceburg, TN

Two Daughters,
Joanna Milford and husband, Tommy of Harvest, Al
Rebecca Johnston and Steve of Lawrenceburg, TN

Two Brothers,
Robert E. Johnston and wife, Nanette of Montevallo, Al
Randall Johnston and wife, Janie of Helena, Al

Two sisters-in-law:
Kay Price and husband, Buddy of Blacksburg, SC
Shelby Jean Brown of Norwood, NC

Brother-in-law:
Roger Benoy and wife, Joan of Myrtle Beach, SC

Four grandchildren

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Ave., Lawrenceburg, Tenn., where the family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, July 16, 2009. The funeral service will be conducted at First United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM Friday, July 17, 2009 with Jim Gardner, Jim Kannon, Barbara Garcia, Garie Taylor, Tom Smith, Jim Beaty, Larry Layne, John Anderson, Al Hardy, and John Williams officiating. Interment will be at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Memorials may be made to the Christian Life Center at First United Methodist Church.
