Police Grant Money Pouring Into Lawrenceburg

Lawrenceburg will be getting some 281 thousand dollars in federal grant money to help keep police officers on the street.

Lawrenceburg is one of nineteen Tennessee police departments who are sharing the grant money, led by Metro
Nashville’s $8.6 million. Police departments
departments in Waynesboro, Pulaski, Mt. Pleasant, Hohenwald, Knoxville and Chattanooga got nothing.
The grants are based on an increase in crime. New York City received no grant money since crime went down there.

Memphis got the second highest amount, $6.3 million, and Jackson was third
at $1.5 million.
