Parents Reach Plea Deal In Child Rape Case

A Lawrence County man was sentenced to eleven years in prison and his wife to eleven months and 29 days on charges of attempted rape of a child.
William Thaniel Ray and his wife Rebecca had originally been charged with the rape of their child and incest.
Under a plea agreement William Ray was allowed to plead guilty to the lesser offense. As a range one offender he will be required to serve at least three years and four months in prison.
His wife, Rebecca Ray will be required to serve her full eleven month, twenty nine days in prison. She pled guilty to a charge of child neglect. The incest charges were dropped.
