Vernie Idell Hughes, age 85, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday. She was a native of Lauderdale County, a homemaker and a member of the St. Joseph Church of Christ.

She is survived by one son, Tony Hughes of St. Joseph and three sisters, Margaret Fulks of Killen, Mary Hendon and Charlene Wright both of Florence. 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren survive.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday at 2 at the Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 11-1 Wednesday at Loretto Memorial Chapel.
