Mr. Hanson was a native of Lawrence County, TN, a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, a farmer, a cabinet maker, worked for T.V.A., and of the Church of Christ faith. Survivors include: Wife of 64 years- Bessie Irene Benefield Hanson of Florence, AL; 3 Sons- Larry Hanson & wife Linda of Florence, AL; Jerry Hanson of Florence, AL; Charles Hanson & wife Reta of Huntsville, AL; 1 Daughter- Sharon Ryan & husband Rick of Knoxville, TN; 8 Grandchildren- Michael Hanson, Jody Hanson, Brad Hanson, Jon Hanson, Cam Hanson, Amy Anderson; Jim Ryan, & Brandon Hanson; 2 Brothers- Mitchell Hanson of Leoma, TN; Victor Hanson of IN; 1 Sister- Christine Newton of Rogersville, AL; Grandsons will serve as pallbearers

Visitation & Services

Visitation- 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Loretto Memorial Chapel. Funeral Service- 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 10, 2011 at Loretto Memorial Chapel with Henry Melton officiating. Burial to follow in Smith Cemetery with full military honors at the graveside.
