Melanie Sue Thornton, age 60, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Monday, February 6, 2012 at Hillside Hospital in Pulaski, TN. She was a native of Jacksonville, FL, and a former truck driver.

Her parents were the late Thelma Delorus Anderson Taylor and the late Peter Mateika, She was also preceded in death by her son, Shawn Thornton and a brother, Peter Leo Mateika.

Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. A Memorial service will be announced at a later date.
